Resin overlay driveway prices
Resin overlays are a cost-effective way to smarten up an existing tarmac or concrete drive, as long as the base is still solid and not breaking up. If the base is sound, we can install an overlay without the cost of a full excavation and rebuild.
Resin Overlay — from £40 per m²*
*Based on larger areas with a sound existing surface and generous m² measurements. Smaller or awkward layouts are priced once we've seen them properly.
Small, awkward or heavily cracked areas can cost more per m² because extra preparation is needed and materials are used less efficiently.
When a resin overlay is realistic
- Existing tarmac or concrete is sound and not moving.
- No major cracks, potholes or soft spots.
- Levels and drainage already make sense.
- You want a smart finish without rebuilding everything.
If you’re unsure whether your driveway is suitable, send a few photos. We can usually tell quickly whether an overlay is sensible or if a full system is the safer long-term option.
What affects resin overlay costs?
- Area size: larger areas usually work out cheaper per m².
- Condition of the base: repairs, levelling and crack treatment add cost.
- Edging details: new blocks, kerbs or setts take extra time and materials.
- Colour and stone blend: some mixes cost more than standard blends.
We’ll always be honest if an overlay isn’t a good idea — it’s better to rebuild properly than lay resin over a failing base.
